Travelling by plane
Two airports are to be found in Belize City. The international flights are effected from Goldson International Airport (BZE), situated in distance of 16 kms in north-west direction from city centre. Town´s airport (TZA) is placed on the coast, 2,5 kms distant from city centre.On the other hand, most of inland flights is landing on both airports but from Town´s Airport the air-tickets are much more cheaper. Maya Island Air and Tropic Air belong to Belize flight companies.
Travelling by bus
Most of local buses are USA veteran school buses, some of them are even of first-class level. reat companies secure dense connection on three main routes of the country. Travelling by motor vehicle
In Belize, there are existing three roads of two lines of quite good quality, such as: the North Road - between Mexico border, close to Corozal and Belize City, West Road - between Belize City and Guatemala border, in Benque Viejo del Carmen, and finally, Humming-birds Road, leading from Belmoplan to Dangriga. The remaining roads are mostly narrow, as one-or two line dusty ways, non-passable after heavy rains. The distance sign-posts as well as road marking is stated in miles, the speed limits is stated in miles per one hour, despite the fact that most of vehicles has its tachometer in kilometres. Although Belize is a former British colony, local traffic is effected on right side of the road.
Entering to Belize, you need passport, with a validity of at least six months after your entry. You are obliged to present return air-ticket or sufficient financial means for stay and return way. When travelling by car or any other motor vehicle, so you are required to present with driving licence, documents, confirming car possession and security police (it could be bought at cross-border when you enter the country).
Necessary documents
The citizens of European Union are entitled to enter Belize territory without visa and stay there for time period of 30 says, provided you are not seeking a job or study. If you wish to prolong your stay there, you are obliged to ask for this operation the respective Immigration Office in Belize.
When entering Belize territory, the Immigration Officers could require that the passengers would prove sufficient financial means for stay in the country, whereas the limit is not stipulated exactly. So, you are recommended to present your valid credit card, which is fully accepted in Belize.
