When we asked at tourist information center, Whistler, where to hike in the area, the recommendations of the lady at the reception were same as the recommendations we got from our friends. They knew the area around Whistler very well. The weather got much better after two days. Therefore we decided for the most difficult trip in the area – to Wedgemount Lake located high in the mountains.
I wake up at 7.20 a.m. in a shock. I burst out of sleeping bag heading to washroom. Fortunately, I remembered the time of departure. It is an hour later so when I get it back together I start preparing for the departure. The weather is not very good today, it is a bit foggy.
Spring was coming soon which lured us to the nature outside Beijing. “Why don’t you go to the Sidu river 十渡?“ one teacher–friend told us. The description suggested it is beautiful there: allegedly „Guilin桂林 of the north“. It is a vast karst area covering 300 km² in north China. This area was formed by the Tu-ma river. Sidu literally means “ten fords”. Today the fords are replaced with modern bridges yet they say the place has still some magic in it.
Today our stop in Latin America will take place in the second largest Columbian city.

This is it. Our journey in Paris has came to an end. Our last destination is the legendary, beautiful, and fascinating Le Grand Louvre, or just Louvre for short. Before we even entered the world of colorful French history put in contrast to the modern France, we spent time seeing Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel.
Bratislava is the capital and the largest city in Slovakia. The Danube flows through this city. Five bridgest (well, technically four today as the Stary Bridge is being disassembled only to be replaced with a new one). The most interesting si the SNP bridge built in the 20th century. There are couple of distributaries going to nowhere yet surrounded with riparian forests. Bratislava borders two countries – Hungary and Austria.
I spent two day in the High Tatras while on my way from Kosice and east Slovakia. I was lucky to spend there the most beautiful days of autumn. Even though sun shined only in the morning the weather was very good. It did not rain, snow, and it was not cold nor hot. Perfect when you go to mountains.
