Laos V: Nong Khiaw – Adventurers’ HQ
heading (paragraph): States
Published: 11.9.2015

The town of Nong Khiaw is split by blue-green river which forms local landscape. Jungle and bare rocks create the landscape making an interesting contrast. There are couple of guest houses on the shore as well as bamboo bungalows, restaurants, and bars. You will enjoy beautiful nature here and true life in Asian countryside. The Laotians seem shy at first. Getting to know them closer reveal their pleasant and kind nature. The farther from tourist centers they are the friendlier they get.

Take a look at us to everyday life in Nong Khiaw.

I wouldn’t believe there could be a city in Asia of such proportions that is so quiet. No traffic jams, no crowds, no crowds of tourists. It is true that Laotian capital Vientiane has “only” 750 thousand people. Still, I was very surprised. I don’t agree with Lonely Planet which says there is nothing to see and it advices you to better avoid it.
