Zasmuky is located mere 20 kilometers from Kolin. This tourist friendly town offers several stops to visit - the Assumption of Virgin Mary church, Marian column and Zasmuky Castle.Musical composer Frantisek Kmoch was born in Zasmuky. Also Jan Neruda spent two years of his childhood there. Zasmuky Castle was owned by the House of Sternbergfor a long time.

Interesting and picturesque town is located on a border of two regions – Prague East and Kolin. According to the authorities, it used to be part of Kolin. However, few years ago somebody decided that Kostelec nad Cernymi lesy would far better if it is closer to Prague. So now it is definitively in the Prague East district.
