Hluboká nad Vltavou is a locality which became famous through its snow-white Castle of Neo-Gothic style, erecting high above the river. The town has nearly five thousands of inhabitants as is the third one of České Budějovice district. It is situated at the border of Tábor highland and Budějovice basin.
