Klatovy city makes an important point for life in a relatively inhospitable region. Farther west, near the borded, is not enough work, so when you do not want there to farm as a farmer, you have to go to the city - for work, entertainment, shopping or knowledge.

The town was founded embraced by the wide valley of the Otava River under the Svatobor ridge as early as the arrival of the Slavs. The wealth of Sušice brought mostly gold panning in the Otava and the Golden Path. But the most famous dry goods are undoubtedly Solo matches. The factory for their production was built in 1839 in the city and operated until 2008.
