Benátky nad Jizerou has approx. seven thousands of inhabitants. It is situated in Central Bohemia, not far from Prague. The locality became well-known, especially thanks to stay of Tycho Brahe, famous Danish astronomer or Bedřich Smetana, musical composer. Both personalities lived in local castle, and Benátky nad Jizerou was a good inspiration for their work.
