Lužické Mountains - Czech republic

Lužické Mountains is a small border mountain-range in North Bohemia, situated between towns of Děčín and Liberec. The highest point is Luž (793 m), the other tops are Jedlová, Klíč and Studenec. Since 1976 are declared Lužické Mountains as Protected Natural Area.

Mountain range forms the frontier between Poland, Germany and Czech Republic, nedarly half of territory is formed by forests.

In the north of the Czech Republic, a few kilometers from the German and Polish borders, there is a national cultural monument Grabštejn Castle. There is also a chateau, which is inaccessible to the public, it serves the Czech Army as a training center for cynology. The dominating feature of the castle is the circular tower and the outlook is part of each sightseeing tour. The pride of the local castle is the Chapel of St. Barbara with its rich paintings and original Gothic sculpture of linden wood. Barbara - the patroness of miners, which, like the castle, has undergone a gradual reconstruction. In the cellar you will find an exhibition of torture chamber or wine cellar.
