Jizerské Mountains

Jizerské Mountains are the most northern mountain range of Czech Republic. The mountains derive its name  according to the river of Jizera, springing on slopes of Smrk, being the highest  point of these mountains. The mountains were originally considered as a western  extremity of Krkonoše (Giant Mountains). Its essential part is situated in Poland, where you can find the highest point of these mountains  (Wysoka Kopa).

Around the mountains there are situated the towns , such as Liberec, Frýdlant, Nové Město pod Smrkem, Desná , Tanvald and Jablonec nad Nisou.

Albrechtice in Jizerské mountains

The community of Albrechtice was founded in 1670 by Des Fours Parentage. It is situated between Špičák and Mariánská hora. The village has its name after Earl Albrecht Maxmilian Anton. In 1700, a community was established here.

Nová louka in Jizerské mountains (New meadow)

Nová Louka (New Meadow) is a solitude house, forming an important crossroad of tourist paths. situated near to the community of Bedřichov in Jizerské Mountains. The altitude of this place is 770 m above sea level. In its outskirts, there are to be found extended valley-peat-bogs, thanks to that fact, that the area was declared as nature reservation.

Jizera mountain

Jizera Mountain is – with its 1122m of height – the second highest moutain of Bohemian part of Jizerské Mountains, and at the same time, the highest peak of Jemnický Range.

Smědavská hora (Hill of Smědava)

Hill of Smědava is 1083,9 m high,placed in side-headland of Hejnice-range of Jizerské Mountains. This hill has got its name according to Smědá river , which has one of its sources in peat-bogs under its southern slope. At the foot of the hill, you find the mountain-enclave and challet Smědava.

Polední kameny (Midday or Noon Stones) are top rocky stones situated in North Bohemia in a range of Jizerské Mountains. On very top there are to be found several rocks and lonely put stones. In a top range you find cops of moutain-ash.

Černý vrch (Black hill)

Černý vrch (Black Hill) is a mountain, situated on Middle Jizera Range. It is placed approx. 2 kms in northwestern direction of Jizerka community and approx. 2 kms in southeastern direction, distant from tourist challet of Smědava.

Smrk
