Krušné Hory (Ore Mountains)

Ore Mountains are situated on the northwest part of Czech Republic and 130 km long border divides from Germany, where there is more essential part of this mountain massif. It is divided on Klínovec and Loučen part and form so called Krušnohorský system. The highest point is Klínovec, 1244 m high. This place is - especially in winter - popular centre of skiiers.

In 1884 there was built here stone look-out-tower.

Jáchymov

The town of Jáchymov was founded in 1516. Its development continued quite quickly, it became even the second biggest town in Bohemia. There was mined a silver, thanks to this fact a mint-office was established. The name of coin was derived from the original name of the community i.e. Joachimsthal, thaler, later dollar.

Boží Dar

The community of Boží Dar (1028 m of sea level) is situated on the border with Germany and belongs to most important resorts of winter sports in Czech Republic. Except of descent skiing, this place is looked for especially for run skiing, too. On Czech territory , the ski routes are 70 kms long, whereas on the German part, easy to be reached , the other 50 kms are for disposal for skiiers.

Skiarea Klínovec

Klínovec is the biggest mountain of Krušné hory (Ore Mountains). Its peak has the height of 1244 m of sea level. Ski-area Klínovec is popular ski resort, distant 120 kms from Prague, placed near to German border, in Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) district.

Klínovec

Klínovec is the highest peak of Iron Ore Mountains (Krušné hory). It is a flat, well visible mountain, approx. 3,4 kms distant from the community of Boží Dar. In 1817, there was constructed here the first look out tower, substituted by new stone one, 24 metres high.
