Black lake

You find it in 6 kms distance and in northwestern direction of Železná Ruda, under northern slope of Jezerní hora (Lake Hill), its top is placed 320 m over lake water level.
The lake is surrounded with dark forests, which give this famous black colour shade. The bottom of a lake is formed with a rock, where there is to be found approx. 9 m of mud, formed with pollen from neighbouring trees. This pollen is put on bottom during thousands of years. The water flows through Black brook to Úhlava-river, falling into Berounka, Vltava and Elbe rivers. The lake forms a part of natural reservation, established even in 1911.
