Šumava (Bohemian Forest)

Bohemian Forest is one of the oldest mountain range of Europa. It is a biggest Natural Park in Czech Republic (69 030 ha). Bohemian Forest is situated on the Border of Czech Republic with Germany and Austria. It is formed by rocks of Primary mountains origin. As Natural Park it was declared in 1991. There are many monuments here. The tourists have choice for spending of nice holidays as in winter as in summer. The highest point of Šumava names Plechý (1378 m).

Great Javor (Grosser Arber) in Germany
The mountain range is formed with four groups of rocks, such as: Grosser Arber, Bernstein, Richard Wagner-Spitze and Ostspitze. Near to main peak, there are placed two towers (TV sender and meteorological station).
Skiing possibilities:
Great Arber is a paradise for skiers. You find here ski-descent area Arber Skigebiet and several ski-descent lines of various difficulty-stages. On red and black ski-lines, there are taken place international ski-competition races (with FIS homologation). One cabin rope-railway, two rope-railway lines as well as three ski-towages serve for transport of ski-lovers. In winter saison, most of ski-descent lines are covered with snow guns. The towages are available - under favourable weather conditions - since 9:00 till 16:00 hours daily. Also snowboardpark, as well as toboggan-line are available for public.
