Ayer´s Rock is situated in southwest corner of Northern Territory in arid and red centre of Australia. It is gigantic sandstone formation raising high above the plain of neighbouring table-lands. Nevertheless, its dimensions form the greatest monolith of all over the world.

Ayer's Rock: it is a name of gigantic, 350 metres high monolith, situated on arid plateau of Central Australia. Nevertheless, the rock obtained this name by white men only, local tribes of Aborigines (tribes of Snake and Cangaroo Men) named the formation as Uluru, i.e. a place giving a shade.
