Above picturesque village of Mitterbach, beautiful Gemeindealpe Hill is rising (1626 metres above sea level). At its slopes, ski resort is open for public during winter months. Its name joins the name of the hill with a name of the village, where low station of seat rope railway is to be found. From the top (two seat rope railways could take you upstairs) you can enjoy phantastic panorama outlook towards wide environs of Voralpen. Not far from Mitterbach, at the border among Styria and Lower Austria, only four kilometres distant from Mariazell - shrine, glacier Erlaufsee Lake could be found (in an altitude of 827 metres above sea level). This mountain lake, with transparently pure water, offers many possibilities for spending of leisure time. So, in summer, it is bathing, fishing or diving. Around whole lake, the tourist path is leading, ideal for summer walks as well as for winter ski running. In winter, the lake is freezing quickly, as (at low sun-shines) it is situated in a shadow of surrounding hills, so, the locality becomes a popular target for ice skating lovers.
