Year after year Bosnia has been increasingly popular tourist destionation. It combines amazing nature, waterfalls, caves with original architecture. There are apparent traces of a war conflict here. However, it doesn't disturb one's experience. People shouldn't forget what happened. Our photogallery takes you to the capital of Sarajevo. However, in addition to that we include the beautiful town of Mostar, Kravica waterfalls, Blidinje nature park, and Jablanica. Also, we remember the 1984 Winter Olympics.

We leave Kravica waterfalls in the direction to Čapljina and Stolac towns. Brown tourist boards along the road help us to navigate. Half an hour of ride later we leave waterfalls behind us and turn to Karaotok Motel Park before the town of Stolac. There is a camp before the hotel, an outdoor restaurant, an information center with very friendly staff ready to help you with trips and other things.

Bosnia and Hercegovina – Memories of the Winter Olympics and a Tour in Tuzla
Published: 28.8.2017
Our journey in Bosnia and Hercegovina is coming to an end with the last day upon us. We plane to leave Sarajevo for Tuzla which is the site of the airport. Before taking off we want to refresh ourselves. The hottest day of our vacation is upon us. However, there is one more place close to Sarajevo which we want to see. This is the remains of once a bobsleigh track used for XIV Winter Olympis in 1984. Then the games took place in Yugoslavia. The trakc is located in the Trebevic mountain range southeast from Sarajevo on Jahorina mountain. The track was severely damaged during the war and mines were laid around. The remains of the track have been frequented by tourists lately. It is rather now a war memorial than a place which would be a memorial to the Olympics.

Bosnia and Hercegovina, Blagaj – Turkish Atmosphere
Published: 7.8.2017
After our visit to Hutovo Blato nature park and the town of Pocitelj, we follow the road to get closer to Mostar. However, we turn left near the town, ride for another 10 kilometers and follow brown tourist boards towards the town of Blagaj. The town was conquered by the Turkish in 1466. This heavily shaped the architectonic look of the town.

Bosna and Hercegovina, Mostar – On Our Own

Early in the morning we take off from Bratislava heading to Tuzla about a forty-five minute flight. Tuzla is a town in the north of Bosnia and Hercegovina. We flew there because of cheap flight tickets (only about 500 CZK for a return ticket). Take in mind that the passport control at Bratislava airport is like earlier even if you have an electronic passport. Therefore, it takes sometimes a while before you get at the end of the line, sometimes mere minutes before the gate closes.

Early in the morning we leave Mostar, join the E73 route in the direction to Sarajevo. We pass amazing mountain sceneries and eventually reach the town of Jablanica. We plan to stay here for a while but not now. By turning to the left we get deeper into the mountains some of which rise as high as 2 000 meters above sea level.

Bosnia and Hercegovina, Sarajevo – The Capital
Published: 21.8.2017
Upon our visit to Blidinje nature park and Jablanica town we drive on along E73 road to the northeast. Our goal is Bosnia and Hercegovina's capital Sarajevo. Once again we drive on the new section of the freeway. There are several exits to Sarajevo so don't take the first one hastily and wait for the one which directs you to the city center. Otherwise you could make your drive much longer.
