Loket

Loket

The town of Loket was founded round 1240 from outer bailey of King´s Castle of the same name, established by Bohemian King Wenceslas I.

You find here a marvellous castle and the square of the same beauty. The history  addresses you immediately at  town´s entrance. Loket, in 1950 declared as a Town´s Monument Reservation, let at mostly houses and buildings a Gothic nucleus, so the town preserved its medioeval character. A comfortable parkplace is available directly on a square.

We recommend to to visit the castle and afterthat to have a walk through its surroundings.

There is an ideal place for a short romantic excursion along Ohře river.
