Boskovice
Local people feeded with agriculture – till the period of Slaves pieces of ground – which remained a main source of subsistence up to 20th century. First written notice about this small town comes of the second half of 15th century. This history is documented in local Museum, founded in 1905.
The dominante of local countryside is Gothic-Renaissance Castle established in middle of 13th century. It is situated over the valley of small river Bělá with a view to Malá Haná and Chlumy. The castle was in ownership of Boskovice Parentages till the end of 14th century. Since the end of 14th century, it belonged to Kunštát Parentages. However, from originally powerful building , preserved a torso of castle palace only. On the contrary, the second Boskovice castle, established during 1819-1826, is looking for visitors up to now. This castle was built by Prince Frank Xaver Dietrichstein. A place of former monastery, cancelled by Emperor Joseph II in 1784, was used to the construction of the second castle.
As to sports activities: it is available: winter stadium, in 2005 reconstructed. Further, it is Town´s swimming pool, offering not only covered basin but also whirls, wild water or tobogan and steam-room. In sport centre, you can play squash, bowling or billiards.
