Litoměřice
Thanks to one of warmest climate conditions in Czech Republic the vine grew here and grews always up to now. In a town which became in the middcle of 13th century a King´s town, lives over 25000 inhabitants.
In 11th century there was established a chapter with a church of st. Stephen. The originally church-building was in 17th century demolished and on its place built today´s cathedral since 1655. Litoměřice is a seat of diocese.
A fair-ground, named as „Garden of Bohemia“ has quite big importance for this town. The town became a traditional centre of agriculture production, especially fruit-trade, greengrocery and vines. You find in town several cultural centres, such as Home-Museum, North-Bohemian Gallery, former castle, Cultural house and other.
In the outskirts, you can visit the town of Terezín, natural monument Hradiště (Piece of Ground) and Sedlo (Col), castle in community of Ploskovice and several other nature and cultural monuments.
