It is situated on the West of the country. It is famous especially by its balneology.

Hot and cold  springs are welling up from the earth for thousand of years. Let´s name three well-known and biggest spas – there are Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Mariánské Lázně (Marienbad) and Františkovy Lázně (Franzensbad).

Kynžvart Spa is located less than ten kilometres from Marienbad. With its more important neighbor, this city, which is without fountains, palatial houses and colonnades, is in complete contrast.

Besides Carlsbad is Marienbad (Mariánské Lázně) probably the best known Czech spa town. Named after the Virgin Mary it makes the saint's honour in the last years. There is quiet, beautiful, half-empty place, what is away from the necessary dynamics. The majority of visitors probably expect much more from this renowned city.

No doubt, Karlovy Vary belongs to most beautiful Czech spa towns. Local thermal sources healed famous personalities of the past, such as: Tzar Peter the Great, Paganini, Mozart or Freud. The town is situated at confluence of Teplá and Ohře-rivers.

Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) is situated in narrow valley, at confluence of Teplá and Ohře-rivers, inside afforested countryside of Iron Ore Mountains. The locality became famous though its medical treatment (cure) as well as with its mineral springs.

The community of Bukovany has approx. 2000 inhabitants. It is situated not far from the town of Sokolov, Karlovy Vary Region, in an altitude of 440 metres above sea level. The village is surrounded, from its southern part, with mixed and pine forests, and it borders from western part, with former quarry of Libik-Medard.

The town of Horní Blatná is placed not far from Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Region Karlovy Vary, in an altitude of 900 metres above sea level. Its historical nucleus belongs to most preserved towns of Iron Ore Mountains.

District town of Sokolov is situated in the centre of Karlovy Vary Region, in an altitude of 401 metres above sea level. The town has rich hops-cultivation as well mining past, presence of rare ores, where even now the brown coal is excavating in quarries (in Sokolov Basin).

Bečov nad Teplou is situated in south direction from the town of Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad). The castle is placed above deep valley surrounded with high afforested hills, belonging to Slavkov Forest and Teplá Highlands. The castle is flown round from two parts by Teplá-river.
