It is situated on the West of the country. It is famous especially by its balneology.
Hot and cold springs are welling up from the earth for thousand of years. Let´s name three well-known and biggest spas – there are Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), Mariánské Lázně (Marienbad) and Františkovy Lázně (Franzensbad).

District town of Sokolov is situated in the centre of Karlovy Vary Region, in an altitude of 401 metres above sea level. The town has rich hops-cultivation as well mining past, presence of rare ores, where even now the brown coal is excavating in quarries (in Sokolov Basin).

Castle Bečov Nad Teplou

Bečov nad Teplou is situated in south direction from the town of Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad). The castle is placed above deep valley surrounded with high afforested hills, belonging to Slavkov Forest and Teplá Highlands. The castle is flown round from two parts by Teplá-river.
