Region of Liberec is situated  in the North of Czech Republic. It is quite important area from the point of view of  travel  business and it is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.

We recommend you Semerink as a great place for a family vacation. Families with small children especially or even beginning skiers will enjoy the vast ski resort of Severak with easy slopes and many ski tows. The slopes are well maintained. There are many trails to chosoe from and to combine. Especially these are great for little children or easy-skiers. Mild slopes, and relatively short slopes are nothing fancy for experienced skiers.

Should you like skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing, consider a stay at Prichovice, a mountain village which belongs to Korenov town. The former is situated on the borderline of the Jizerske and Krkonose mountain. It is close to Harrachov, and Rokytnice nad Jizerou. The E65 road runs there. You can find accommodation at some of local timbered cabins.

If you consider yourselves fans of winter weather, you can finally after a long time enjoy true winter in the Czech Republic. Moreover, cross-country skiing is great and we recommend you a trek in the Jizerske Mountains. You would be headed from Horni Polubne to Bedrichov. This trek is of middle-difficulty. It is from 24 to 30 kilometres long (depending on what trail you choose). So how to do this?

Even if the castle did not stand on Mount Trosky, it would in itself be a great attraction for tourists. It is a 488 meter high volcano with two cones created by erupting lava. Today, these cones are called Virgo and Baba. The former is younger but taller (even with a tower 518 meters above sea level).

At the confluence of the Černá and Bílá Desná rivers in the Liberec region is the town of Desná. It is by no means interesting in itself, it is worth mentioning the historic churches of the Ascension of the Lord and the Virgin Mary, Riedl's villa from 1895 and the funeral chapel. Lovers of winter sports in particular, but also cyclists and tourists will find theirs here.

Another tip for an active weekend in the Czech Republic is a visit to the beautiful Kokořínsko area. There are ideal conditions for hikers, but recently Kokořínsko has become more and more known to cyclists and especially bikers. There are so-called Kokostezky (Kokořínské stezky), which are forest paths, footpaths and trails around the castle Kokořín, but also Housky and partially reach up to Bezděz.

A tip for a pleasant afternoon walk can be a visit to the interesting Bukovina Arboretum. It is located near the village of Sedmihorky on the Hruboskalská rock plateau. The Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise leads through the rock town, along which it is also possible to go and visit more interesting places in the area.
