REGION OF LIBEREC

Region of Liberec is situated  in the North of Czech Republic. It is quite important area from the point of view of  travel  business and it is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year.

As summer approaches, more and more of us set out on new experiences during our free days. The quarantine is gradually being released, offering more and more opportunities to spend time. This weekend we will look at Nové Město pod Smrkem, which is located in the Liberec region. The city lies in the Jizera Mountains, almost on the border with Poland. There are historic churches, a museum and a mausoleum. However, tourists usually come here for more sporting activities. And so it is with us.

Do you see the light at the end of the tunnel? We do, and Bezděz Castle as well, will open its gates to the public on May 25. We will have to follow certain rules, but we do not mind.

Current unfortunate times do not completely wish classical and often very social canoeing, unfortunately we really can't go rafting with a group today, but the regime is gradually being relaxed, and thus we have the opportunity to take advantage of more interesting outdoor activities.

The Liberec Region lies in the north of the country, on the border with Germany and Poland. The town of Liberec is also the regional center and natural center of the region. Under Certova Mountain in the Giant Mountains, the mountain town of Harrachov is situated on the Mumlava River. The owner of the local estate - Count Jan Harrach - brought the first skis to Bohemia in the 19th century and the first winter sports took place here soon.

Svojkov is a small village in the district of Ceska Kupa, on the route between Novy Bor and Zakupy. In the countryside in the north of the village there are two peaks - Tisovy Peak (540 m above sea level) and Slavicek (535 m above sea level). On the north there are the Svojkovske snadstone rocks through which run two tourist trails, red and green.

If you are thinking about making a romantic walk through wild nature and Semily is not too far for you, then Rieger's trail is the right choice. It runs along the Jizera River along the red marked trail. The walkway overlooks the river, the magnificent view over the Jizera and the hydroelectric power station, you go through the tunnel and you can drink from the well with splendid refreshing water.
