REGION OF VYSOČINA
The region of Vysočina is situated along the border of Bohemia and Moravia. It is neighbouring with the Region of Pardubice, South Moravian Region, South Bohemian Region and Central Bohemian Region. It is one of three inland regions.

Nové Město na Moravě

The town of Nové Město na Moravě was established approx. in 1250 by Boček of Obřany, founder of Cisterciac Monastery in Žďár nad Sázavou. First written notice comes of 1267.
At this time, the originally community named Bočkanov. Anyway, we find the name Nova Civitas on a document of King Wenceslas I in 1293.

Pacov

The town of Pacov is situated on border of Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and South Bohemia. First written notice comes of early 14th century. In the course of 15th and 16th century, Pacov obtained town´s privileges and the town started to develop. In 1519, Pacov obtained the right of use of escutcheon and a seal.

Velké Meziříčí

Early in the 10th century lead the paths through this area and met on place of today´s town of Velké Meziříčí. In 12th century the upper riverside of Oslava-river was colonized, so it was inhabited the basin of Velké Meziříčí. The first written notice is of 1281, Znata of Meziříčí is mentioned.

Světlá nad Sázavou

The town of Světlá nad Sázavou has approx. 7000 inhabitants, well-known especially through glass industry and granite mining. It is situated on the upper flow of Sázava river. The nature around offers several touristic and cyclotouristic routes, in winter there are suitable places for running and descend skiing.

Bystřice nad Pernštejnem

The town of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem,with 9000 inhabitants, is situated in a region of Vysočina in Žďár nad Sázavou district.The historical town-centre is declared as a town´s monumental zone.The name of the town is dedicated to a small river flowing through the place. Bystřice was founded in 13th century and in a short time period became the economical centre of all villages of Pernstein dominion
