Velehrad shrine

The community of Velehrad is situated between heads of Chriby Hills, 8 kms distant from the town of Uherské Hradiště, in one of most picturesque areas of Moravian Slovacko. It is an important spiritual centre, a place of often church pilgrimages, meetings and Cyril-Method celebrations. 1400 inhabitants live here, in extention of 2230 ha.

Velký Lopeník look out tower

Velký Lopeník look-out-tower (911 m) is erected directly on Moravia-Slovakian border, and presents a symbol of reciprocal friendship of both nations.

Buchlov castle

Through Chřiby Hills (or Buchlov Hills) there lead so called Amber and Salt Merchandise ways from ancient times. Prehistoric piece of ground was built here. In 2nd century B.C. the Celtics constructed oppidum in this area. The castle was founded - according to legends - in time period of Great-Moravian Knight of Svatopluk.

Chropyně

The town of Chropyně is situated in valley of Morava-river. Chrop-stronghold became a nucleus of original community which surrounded this building. The archeological findings suggest the settlement of this area to 1000, first written notices come from 1261. In this year, the community was donated to new founded Cisterciac monastery in Vizovice.

Vsetín

The town of Vsetín is situated at foot of Hostýn and Vizovice Hills, around banks of Vsetínská Bečva-river. Dominanta of Vsetín is formed by a castle with a park of 17th century. Today, it is a seat of local regional museum. Except of this, we find here Evangelic Churches of Lower and Upper Synod, Parish Church of Virgin Mary, former civic house Maštaliska and an old town hall.
