|Basic information about river|
This river is created with confluence of Divoká Orlice (Wild Orlice)and Tichá Orlice (Calm Orlice) near to Albrechtice. Anyway, in some water-economy sources it is meant as Orlice Divoká. It mouths from left sside into Elbe in Hradec Králové. Its river-basin makes over 2000km². Orlice flows through open valley between meadows and periodic leafy forests.
The river-bed is sandy as clayish, in some places with sandy beaches and overgrown with willow trees. The river is clear and we meet three weirs only, however, the boats are to be carried over. The lower flow was damaged by floodings, when the water inundated parts of Hradec Králové quarters.
Orlice is navigable all year round. The water register in Týniště gets rarely under stage of
60 cm, this is a minimum. At higher water stand, you can unite your navigation along Orlice river with some calm section on Tichá or Divoká Orlice. The navigation is, under sunshine, very pleasant. Willow trees as well as alder groves make shadows, the river flows slowly. even without paddling.
We can find a suitable camping place near to Svinary, otherwise, near to river banks, the camping can be found with difficulties.
