St.Lucia is an island of progressive economy. Nevertheless, vast tourist resorts (of very high quality level) are to be found in the country.

Warning: small street pilferages are appearing. All things, left on the beach without supervision could become an object of robberies. So, we wish to recommend you, not to travel outside Castries city centre. Do not walk along the beach in the night.

Very hard punishments exist for drugs´ smuggling. The culprits who are found guilty, could receive the punishment of prison and very high fines.

All bigger towns are connected with a nest of roads of good quality. The traffic in the island is effected on left side of the road. The respective traffic rules are kept in very liberate way.

Local inhabitants use frequently hitch-hiking. But, we do not recommend to to take these persons, from safety reasons.The transfer by local buses is rather cheap and safe. When taking taxi, you pay quite expensive fare. So, you are recommended to stipulate the fare in advance with taxi-driver.

On base of presented driving licence or international driving licence, your local driving licence will be issued.

No beach dresses are permitted for walks in the town. It is not allowed to be dressed in camouflage dresses, reminding military uniforms.

The climate is tropical. Nevertheless, the risks of hourricans is appearing since June till November.
