Safety situation in most parts of Senegal territory is relatively good. As an exception, it is Casamance, south-Senegal region, which is, as a consequence of activity of separatistic rebels, still quite dangerous. The danger of armed attacks is outlasting, and some areas are even covered with mines. So, the tourists would not stay in west direction from the town of Kolda, and travel to Casamanca on road from Gambia.

On the other hand, the travelling by air from Dakar to the town of Ziguinchor, or from Dakar to Cap Skirring, tourist complex, is possible. Road routes between the towns of Ziguinchor and Bignona, Ziguinchor and Cap Skirring are also safe.

Within past months, after signature of Peace Treatment between the Goverment and separatists, the safe situation is expressively calm.

In any case, would you be informed in advance, regarding safety situation, at the respective Embassy Office. In Senegal, and even in popular tourist resorts, you can meet big number of free running semi-wild dogs. So, owing to actually proved appearances of hydrophobia, it is highly necessary to avoid any contacts with them. In case when the dog would bite you, it is absolutely necessary to look for the respective medical treatment (Hopital principal in Dakar) and let to be vaccinated against this disease.
