Places of interest
Near Engelberg town in central Switzerland, there are sevreal Alpine summits. We decided to climb up Brunni mountain to reach Brunnihütte (1860 m), a point of interest we intended to see. You can do the entire trail on foot. However, a cable car will save you considerable energy (but not money). Choosing a slower pace you will climb the entire mountain easily especially had you as good weather conditions as we did.
Streaming water, fresh fog of the falls, and climb up into the heart of the Rhine Falls. This is great experience for travellers, adventurers, and families with children.
Once we saw Geneva we move to another interesting Swiss city – Lucerne. It is situated in central Switzerland in the canton of the same name. About 300 thousand people live in the entire canton. So what are the most interesting places in the city on Lake Lucerne?
Last time, we made a brief note on the fact that Geneva is home to many international organizations and that there is the Palace of the Nations, the UN headquarters.
We remain in Europe this time. Our goal is Geneva which is nicknamed the capital of peace. Geneva is the second largest city after Zurich. It is known as the home of many international organizations (WHO, CERN, OSN etc.). One of its major landmarks is the famous Palace of the Nations (Palais des Nations). We will talk about it next time.
Engelberg resort town is a starting place to our trip. It is known for rich system of bike trails and hike trails. Also skiers will enjoy the place in winter. Engelberg, one can say, is in the center of Switzerland, in Obwalden canton at 1050 meters.
This summer will also be full of all kinds of experiences. Go together with us to explore the country with colorful mountain meadows, creeks, rumbling waterfalls, steep rocks and snowy glaciers reflecting sunshine.
In the heart of Switzerland, in Bernese Oberland is a beautiful valley of Haslital, the colors of which are completed with multifaceted environment of mountains. Together, in the following lines we set out exploring this sought after tourist valley.
Basel is also a town of many museums. The most known is the Kunstmuseum (the Museum of Art). I love to remember walks on riverbank of the Rhine. Especially, after sundown we watched bridges, Minster monastery and other buildings in the city-center.
The town of Basel lies in northwestern part of Switzerland along the borders with France and Germany. I have visited it twice.
