This direct line is being used by several thousands of tourists and patient drivers, preferring to travel in such way. Otherwise, they would be forced to overcome this relatively short but rather difficult busy saison route in hot and stress, what is really very unpleasant aspect. All your anxieties are to be put off, moreover, your car is travelling with. Many drivers wish to solve the questions wheather it is worth to travel in such way. Anyway, actual prices of fuels decide, which form of travelling is more advantageous. At the same time, there is news that new highways and roads tolls are to be paid. It is to be expected that interest for travelling by train with cars on board will be increasing. It is obvious that prices for train-traffic remain unchanged, moreover, favourable Czech crown rate to EUR helps to a fact that total prices for tickets could be cheaper.

What means of transport could be transferred by train? There are passenger cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. For passengers, there are sleeping-carriages of Czech as well as Croatian Railways at disposal.

Fast train Jadran (R 1203/1985/1200/1823) has its departure since 20th June till 5th September from Prague, Central Station at 7,47 h, arrival to Split is at 5,00 h next day morning.

Return way, R 1202: Split - departure at 21,00 h, Prague - arrival at 20,00 h next  evening.

Train route - main stops: Prague, Central station - Kolín - Havl. Brod - Brno - Břeclav - Bratislava - Rajka - Gyor - Koprivnica - Zagreb - Split.

Total length of route: 1248 kms

Journey takes: 22 - 23 hours

Price for car-transfer in one way for this saison  is calculated as follows: CZK 1400,- (CZK 1600,- in 2007), for motorcycle-transfer CZK 1000,- (CZK 1100,- in 2007), for bicycle-transfer CZK 130,- (Concrete prices are dependent on actual CZK/EUR rate).

Provided you wish to use car-train services, would you study carefully the plan and conditions of passenger cars loading. All this will be available on web-site of Czech Railways.

Czech Railways recommend - at the same time - to all interested parties in travelling to Croatia, to use advantageous redcuction City Star Croatia - special offer for small groups up to 5 passengers. Your ticket is to be bought 3 days before supposed departure. It is being issued as return ticket with one month validity. The only condition is: you have to stay one night (Saturday-Sunday) in Croatia.
