A picturesque yard is the first place you see when you step into the compound. Its architecture imitates the original 20th century look. Creeks and mills, ponds with fish, all kinds of decorative flowers, and herbs add to the atmosphere of the place.

We start our tour at workshops where traditional hand-made crafts are demonstrated. Newly opened apathyka a cozy store where you find good mood, and good old times atmosphere. A historical drug store sells many natural products. Among them herbal teas, tinctures, or food supplements. You can also make your own natural soap.

Lets continue to the Bernard cabinetmaker’s shop . Local joiners make replicas of old furniture or they simply renovate it. They also offer craft courses which would teach you how to work with wood and smell its aroma. When carrying away a hand-made bird’s house or a wooden sword children are happy having sparks in their eyes.

Visitors at homestead love a design and designer’s workshop . Either you make your own t-shirt, or you choose a poetic fridge magnet with your name you take an original souvenir with, a memory of Bernard Homestead.

A place worth a visit is a small workshop and gallery of aromatic candles. Candle masters hand-craft here paraffin aromatic candles and palm wax candles. They have now many stable customers who buy present for their closest here because of their honest work and novelty. At this nice place, you can even unveil some of the mystery surrounding the candle-making and even make your own candle.

Even with all the fun you can have there they don’t forget about education. There is a unique exhibition at Centrum Reky Ohre center. Interactive models introduce you interesting facts about the river. The main attraction is the massive Ohre River scale-model. On it, touch-screens playing spots are placed on the model. Especially children love for they can touch and try anything at the center.

To gain more knowledge we go on to the Crafts Museum. The life of our ancestors is presented here. See how milk was made, how a hog-killing looked like, grind flour, thresh grain, and show all of this to your children.

Then we move to local Zoo corner. Animals inseparable from traditional farm life live there – sheep, goat, pig, rabbit, and goose. Children can enter the pen and they will love it because they can stroke animals and feed them. Speaking about animals – we shouldn’t forget about bees. From May to October, public bee-keeping courses are held there.

We have also a place for rest, a welcome change after getting so much impression. Bernard Homestead Restaurant is a popular place within visitors. This is mostly for its great Czech cuisine. Also, our staff makes the atmosphere splendid. Trendy interior offers 65 places and is wheel-chair accessible..
