France, Paris V. – Noble Notre Dame Cathedral

Published: 25.6.2014
In today's part of our journey through the Paris visit one of the largest, most beautiful and most visited monuments in the city. Yes, it's Notre Dame on the island Cité. Gimped many stories for centuries dominated this city and encourages the writer and not only is the rotation of the mysterious stories with inimitable French sophistication.

And one such story, we decided to attend too. Therefore, immediately after inspection Palace of Justice , We went to this dominant city. The nearer we approached it, the more impressive and nobler impression it had on us. It was truly beautiful. What we did not expect to have crowds of people gathered in front of her. We sigh and we included one of the two giant series. To our surprise, we are less than 10 minutes we stood at the main entrance portal, where sculptural detail captured last court with Jesus Christ and his martyrs. Our internal tensions escalated. We were extremely curious about what awaits us inside this masterpiece. But before we entered it, we appealed to thechimera. It was ugly form creatures that are placed on religious buildings to driving away evil. I tell you, just look at them intimidating. Have arrived and we stepped inside. The feeling of the grandeur of this building can not even describe. Huge columns connected by arches and decorated with colored rosette windows were for many of us about the most beautiful thing we've ever seen.

Cathedrale Notre Dame, or familiárněji speaking Church of the Mother of God is in this place for a whopping 800 years. Survived the fire, war, revolution, and even many demanding restoration work. It is interesting that in terms of attendance, ahead of Iron Lady and the Eiffel Tower itself, and thus became one of the most popular tourist attractions in France. So if you have more time, we would certainly open a novel by Victor Hugo - The Hunchback of Paris and read the story of the bell-ringer Quasimodo about his love for the beautiful Esmeralda, which, as it happens, ends tragically.

Despite the number of people who have circled around the main ship, there'd find the point where you can stop and enjoy the way to a mystical atmosphere. We were lucky during our visit and rang the bell. His powerful sound caused a momentary stop visitors, whose vision is with bated breath literally staring into the sky. How did we get from the information boards placed in the cathedral learned most of the bells bell is Emmanuel and weighs a staggering 13 tons. It's like the weight of 3 Indian elephants.

Katedrála Notre Dame
Since we had little time and targets on a cruise stop much, we could walk around and visit the cathedral, for example, a memorial to the victims of the Second World War. Therefore, we tried to find at least before it enters the Zero Point , which marks the center of Paris while serving as prime kilometer. Legend even says that if you step on his foot, be sure to see Paris at least once more to return. Unfortunately, we did not find him.

Lest we forget to mention, the entrance to the Cathedral of Notre Dame is free. You also have the opportunity to speak at one of its towers, offering a nice view of Paris.

Katedrála Notre Dame (most Pont au Double)

After an unsuccessful search for the zero point, we went over the bridge Pont au Double for food because of the beauty of the tourist sights can get hungry. Shops with bagels and other goodies, there were several. We took advantage of their offer twice. As we milled about the streets, we came across another church, which bore the name Saint Severin . He was huddled in a picturesque alley. Not for a moment, we did not hesitate and we entered into it. We were surprised by its size and beauty inside and that's why you a visit there is highly recommended. Our journey again culminates in an invitation to read the next section of Paris, at which time we go to the city hall and the building, which is built literally inside out.

„When they want to get rid of them, rich Parisians send their children here to study at the university. So, it is expensive here but the life is vibrant,“ says Louis about his home-town, a guy I met during my stay there. Indeed, for a long time I haven’t been to a place that would have so much of student atmosphere yet it wasn’t flooded with “poor” hipster cafes. Add more than two thousand years of history, narrow streets with old houses made of sandstone and friendly inhabitants of Provence. This makes almost perfect image of one of the most famous towns in the south of France.
