Indonesia X.: Expedition 2011 - Relax By The Sea And Exploring The Jungle

Published: 17.9.2012
Day Tenth – was in a sign of total relaxation. We spent it at the hotel and by the sea. Day Eleventh - a trip into the jungle. Again moving by minibus and exploring the beauty of a local countryside.

Relax by the sea

The tenth relaxing day we spent by the sea. We started, like everyone else, breakfast at the poolside restaurant. Buffet with different kinds of rice, meat, vegetables, fruit, omelettes ... to coffee, tea, juices. We mostly just after breakfast, supper, it was because of the variety of breakfast and also because in the heat of eating too impossible. After breakfast we went a little sideways in order to have peace from the boats, personal watercraft and flying boats. When you return, we had a beer at a local shop and we left her about 50 cents as tip. For local shop assistant it was probably the best experience of a lifetime, at least she looked while we both shook his hand and wished us all the best.

The eleventh day - trip to the jungle

Back into the minibus and go to Bali. Our accommodation would be a good place if we wanted to spend the day at the pool bar. But it was not, we have enough lounging yesterday, and today we wanted to know. All places of interest were cross over the island, jungleso we chose back up north, lakes and jungle. Above the volcanoes climate was better, it was so hot and humid. We stopped over the lake and entered a narrow walkway into the forest. "This is like in our country," said disappointed Jarka 2 under huge trees and surrounded by lush and sometimes even dangerous vegetation. Indeed, in essence, also grew in the jungle trees, shrubs, grass, "as in our country." But it was different. The trees were huge and had a very sophisticated system of roots. They triggered them from top. The trunk and branches grow as lianas projections downward. When touched the ground, both the roots and flourish with. Later increased and created additional auxiliary trunk. Tree and gained stability and grew in the battle for the sun higher and higher. But such is not always enough to increase stability. We convinced of it, when our narrow walkway suspended fallen tree. Bypass it proved to be not quite a simple task, but we managed it.

Indonesia - Bali - The eleventh day
The road to the village

Probably in such trips tourists are not very interested. The sidewalk was narrow and untouched and our guide points you also not entirely sure. Finally, we came to the lake, we entered into two parallel connected kayaks and we rowed to the other side of the village.

Jarka 2, the idea seemed to refresh your feet in the lake like a really good one. Like a good idea, however, evaluated and one particularly skilful leeches and immediatelywaterfall burrowed into her leg. I pull it succeeded only the third time when I had begun to give up. Lake was in the crater of a volcano. It supplied the rain water, it was actually a swimming pool, no river it didn’t flow away and anyone didn’t come into river. Last rainy season has been particularly intense, and so the lake water rose and flooded part of the village, where we went and also flooded the village temple. To normal, the lake had to get that in two years. So we have at least something from the villagers bought with the price offered. After the village we were waiting minibus and we had a good lunch in a traditional restaurant above the valley. Path to it was full of amazing views, so Jarka 2 enthusiastically commanded to Jakub, who had a camera: "Film it, everything, I´ll edit it later."

From the restaurant, we got to walk to the waterfall, where he played a Dutchman. I would not risk a shower. Get directly under the falling water from the waterfall height had to be as safe as they get into the machine gun fire. From the waterfall we were not going anywhere, only to hotel Bintang.
