Mallorca – The Island of Great Experiences and Natural Beauties

On this very day we take you to the Spanish island of Mallorca situated in the western regions of the Mediterranean Sea. It belong to the Balearic Islands autonomous region. As it is winter now, the beginning of the year is the best time to plan a summer vacation. The following lines should introduce you to this amazing, shiny island.

Spain's largest island is reachable either via boat or plane. Right upon your arrival you will fall in love with local nature. The sheer number of sunny days and pleasant sea climate will make you to enjoy the vacation here. Every corner of the island is covered in pine trees, flowers, charming beaches, romantic towns, azure sea, and grandiose mountains.

Mallorca is one of the most popular vacation destinations. Over 10 million tourists visit it in main season annually. Despite so many people, you shouldn't worry about the island being overcrowded. You may easily communicate in several world languages and people will welcome you with their hands open. Poverty, high social gaps... nothing of such is to be found here. People live easy life here.

The history of Mallorca is tied to the Romans, Moors, and Byzantines. Many architectonic sights point out to island's history. There are remains of 84 defense towers which guarded the island against barbaric pirates coming from Africa. Presently, island's economy depends on tourist industry.

Palma de Mallorca is the capital of the island. There are all sorts of different restaurants, famous city beach of Playa de Palma. Moreover, there is the oldest chocolate factory. Tourists also love Manacor famous for pearl production and wood carving. Rafael Nadal, famous talented tennis player was born here. Can Picafort is also a popular resort. It features a shopping promenade, and long beach dotted with sand castles. Also, we recommend you to visit some villages scattered across the island on cliffs. Moreover, there are amazing caves, high coastal cliffs and great beaches (pebble, sand, golden, white and black). A trip to Puig de Galatzo is an amazing experience.

As for sights, we highly recommend you to visit La Seu cathedral in the capital. Antoni Gaudí designed it. Colorful stained glass windows make undescribable colorful light performance. Also, therei s a museum so be sure to make a stop here during your travels across Mallorca. Mercat del Olivar is yet another interesting place worth visiting. here you can buy fresh meat, vegetables, fruits, and, of course, fish and some local specialties. People adorninig history will love Castell de Capdepera, a castle situated on the eastern coast. Once, the castle guarded the island against pirates. Porto Cristo is a traditional Spanish fishing village featuring quiant port with many small and larger boats docked there. Towns like Valldemossa or Soller are also amazing for beautiful flowers and amazing architecture adorn them. It is likely that you would encounter an Arabian spa, Carthusian cloiser, or Deia – the town of steep streets, and artists.

There are many sport activities one can get involved in on Mallorca. Tennis is very popular as dozens of tennis courts suggest, the same goes for golf or facilities where you can do water sports. Moreover, there are many aquaparks where both young and old will have fun. And swimming is an activity which is certainly popular among all. On the island, there are beautiful cliffs from which you may jump safely into the sea.

Should you get hungry try Sangria, a typical mixed beverage based on red wine, especially Hierbas, a stroger liquor of aise, or the sweet ensiamada. Sea fruits are affordable here, and be sure to have a taste of local sausages. Dancing performances are common here. So enjoy the rhytm of flamenco and join fiesta.

Mallorca is an island which will tempt you to explore it. So be sure to rent a car or use local buses or perhaps buy a cruise on a catamaran. Enjoy the hospitability of the locals and the same goes for adventure which will leave you with many impressions long to remember.
