SR, Liptov Region: Liptovsky Jan – The Underground Below Towers

From the outset, I would like to mention that this museum is definitely worth a visit in any season and in any weather and not take it only as an emergency program in case of bad weather. We were there with our Polish friends and I have to admit that even for us it was one of the most interesting museums we have visited. Despite it is really tiny, you know it and spend it quietly for hours. The entire tour will be hosted by the renown "expert" - a museum is established group of enthusiasts, passionate cavers, so although interpretation is very eye-catching, but as you acknowledge the many questions yet to answer with absolute precision do not know. Still, we guarantee that you will learn many interesting things and some spiciness of life not only coins but also the lives of our ancestors.

If you drive here, you can park right in front of exposure to the free car park. The museum is open year round and if you combine the visit with a visit of Medvedi Stola in Ziarska Valley , or Stanisovska Cave in Janske Valley, you may be able to get a discount on admission, like it happened to us.

Of Life of a Coin
The museum exhibition Underground Beneath the Towers is truly unique and will appeal to visitors of all ages. From the beginning to the end of the exhibition your attention is constantly kept focused thanks to engaging storytelling and demonstrations guide. Each tour begins engraved commemorative coin collector. Then you descend into the bowels of the earth where the ore is located. There miners lived their hard life, but also the difficult lives of their wives and children, with your own eyes you will see a touch of metal with fire and water in a forge, you'll become, or if you find a place so rather sit at the birth of a completely new coins, you can try self how hard our ancestors worked, well, at the end of the tour, you might just become the proud owner of a unique collector coins, which even has a "birth certificate", i.e. a certificate of origin and the exact number. During each inspection occurs, only one coin.

Visitors must jointly agree on what material will be produced, and what exactly will be shown. You can choose to have the three materials and three themes, so sometimes it even takes opensa stormy debate that often end up voting. At the end of the tour, you can enjoy the right Janska coin auction, the starting value is 1 euro. But this is not the final price. Winner of the auction must still sign the book to auction goose pen. However, this is not easy, and nope it's not as simple as it see in fairy tales. We were involved in the auction while, but could not win it because we stopped here until the end of the holiday Liptov , and so we had a fairly pretty pockets.

The tiny gift shop have we bought at least magnets that will remind us to visit this unique exhibition and quickly got into the car to catch the latest entry into the Stanisovska Cave. But we will talk about it next time.
