Stary Smokovec: Photographers and Fans of Nature Lets go to the Tatras!

Mountain Internet Club citizens’ association and the town of Vysoke Tatry hold the third year of Tatran Photomarathon on September 21 and 22. Infoglobe website is a traditional partner of this event, even today it will inform you about what is happening there. A new feature of this year photomarathon will be a split of competition to two categories with their own themes. The first, A. category the CITY includes 8 hours of shooting around the whole area of the town of Vysoke Tatry, from Podbanske to Tatran valley. Competitors in the last years of the competition know this category very well. This is perhaps the reason why they are interested in the second category, B. category MOUNTAINS that consists of 30 hours of photographing in mountain environment. There is a possibility to sleep over in a mountain log. Particular themes of both categories will be declared before the start of the competition on September 21, 2013 at 9 o’clock in front of the Mountain Club (the Swiss House) in Stary Smokovec. After the 8 themes will be revealed, the competitors have to depict them on 8 photographs while keeping the time schedule of particular category. Photographers have to capture obvious relation of motifs with the High Tatras.

Since August 1 2013 you can e-register on official web pages of the event. You may find it HERE. You will have achance to register an hour before the beginning of the competition at the starting point. The registered competitors at the Tatran Photomarathon can use free parking on municipal parking lots of the town of Vysoke Tatry, special package containing sale vouchers from sponsors of the event, free tea, sale on menu in the restaurant, and free entrance to the SKI Museum in Tatranska Lomnica, and even a voucher for a package of fresh cheese korbac package, again – for free. There is also magazine Krasy Slovenska in the gift package and tourist or ski catalogues by Infoglobe.

For larger groups of competitive photographers and fans of the Tatras, the organizers prepared favorable group start package. On Saturday night will be a pleasant gathering with outdoor movie projection (Night with OutdoorFilmy.sk) in the Mountain Club. Another interesting feature will be a vast canvas with photos from awarded competitors on it. The canvas will be installed on the façade of the Swiss House.

Professional jury consisting of best of mountain and Tatran photographers will assess all photographs. Awards and preview of photographs will take place in October 2013 at the Mountain Club in Stary Smokovec. Even this year, awarded competitors will receive various prizes ranging from stays, to material prices or gift vouchers.
