Switzerland: Jungfrau Region – Summer Vacation in Haslital Valley

Today we set off yet again to the beautiful Haslital valley, located in the heart of Switzerland, in Barner Oberland region. Except discovering beautiful nature, we tell you today several tips for outdoor activities and we will mention some interesting sport and cultural events as well.

Haslital is a valley of unusual experiences , with a number of tourist trails for families and also a number of mountain trails.  (altogether more than 1000 kilometers of tourist and bike trails). The valley is biker's paradise, regardless if you prefer flat or mountainous terrain. Also the fans of extreme sports, including, for example paragliding would enjoy they stay here. An interesting experience could be swimming in a mountain lake.

Visitors prone to less action should pay attention to a panoramatic view on the top of Planplatten (2 245 meters). It is part of the restaurant, which can be reached by the Gelmerbahn cable car with a slope of 106%, making it the steepest funicular railway in Europe. Equally interesting is the attraction at the village of Grindelwald in the form of adrenaline gondola First Flieger, which will bring visitors to the heights at high speed. Refreshment during the coming summer days again you can arrange trips to Gletscherschlucht Rosenlaui glacier gorge to gorge Alpbachschlucht or falls Trümmelbachfälle. This is a true marvel of nature.

The entertainment during your vacation care and various events. For example, music lovers should not miss the festival Musikfestwoche , which will host world-renowned artists (from 4th to 12th of July, 2014) supporters theater event again open-air Landschaftstheater Ballenberg (from 9th to 23th of August, 2014). Sport enthusiasts can look forward to one of the longest trail running in Switzerland, the 5th Mountainman, a challenge even for skilled sportsmen. They have to overcome an 80 kilometers long trail with 5000 meters elevation (16th of August, 2014) or also to Alpenbrevet (23th of August, 2014). 2500 amateur bikers will set off to an adventure trail up to 276 kilometers long. The trail leads over five alpine passes. Also, an unusual event is the 12. Eidgenössisches Scheller - und Trychlertreffen (from 29th to 31st of August, 2014). It is a Swiss event where everyone rings cow bells. Or you can visit Alpkäsefest - the celebration of alpine cheese accompanied by folk music and refreshments (September 2014). And we can continue on and on…

Haslital Valley offers unique connection of beautiful nature surrounded by four famous Alpine passes: Brünig - Grimsel - Susten - Große Scheidegg. There is lot of fun, many events, distinct local folklore and local traditions. You should also get to know the atmosphere of the country with picturesque cottages, meadows, high mountains, passes, creeks and steep falls.
