Do You Know That? The Smallest Exotic Statest Of The World III.

Bermuda is the first and biggest island from this group. It is, in fact, as many other similar islands, a point of extinct submarine volcano, erected from the bottom of North American Basin, hidden in such place even five kilometres below sea level. The slope of these volcans are often covered with dense nest of coral colonies, forming so astonished spectacle. With its surface of 54 square kilometres, Bermuda Islands take the 240th position of countries´ survey, as far as the extent is concerned. Hamilton is a capital, a seat of Governor and a Government at the same time. As the most important monument, it is Church of England Cathedral, built in 1897. The city is rich, pure and cosy. Even new buildings preserve their original face, and this fact could effect rather in trumpery way.Typical tradition of the South is mixed with British colonial spirit. Low buildings are full of variegated colours, and everywhere you can find an order and calm.

St. George is the second greatest town of the island. Here, you can find an international airport and also a small port - nevertheless, population number is higher. Bermuda Islands, being closer, with its position, to United States, are under hegemony of Great Britain (United Kingdom). But as far as the currency is concerned, it is Bermuda Dollar. Regarding the religion, it is Church of England, followed by Roman Catholic religion.

The islands were discovered in 1503, when Juan Bermudez seafarer landed there. Anyway, the colonization of the islands was effected hundred years later, when a crew of wrecked British vessel arrived. Since 1684, the island was declared officially as British territory but its autonomy is held partially till now.

Rather advantageous position, in area of Gulf Stream, gives the islands very pleasant climate all year round. These conditions are ideal for vegetace, and, for tourism, first of all, owing to the neighbourhood of United States, where especially North Caroline State is not distant. Similarly as another islands, Bermuda is so called „tax paradise“. So, you can find there the branches of many banks and financial agencies. The island became one of the richest states of the world, owing to small number of population - 65 thousands approx. (GNP per capita is USD 29000).

Two thirds of local population is formed with negroe persons. As the main working activity, it is growing of vegetable and fruits, and fishing. Nevertheless, Bermuda Islands are totally dependent in import of foodstuffs, technics, chemical products as well as live animals.

And now, the information about some fact, you can expect, first of all!

A Mystery of Bermuda Triangle

Bermuda, or, better to say Devil´s Triangle, is an area of Mexico Bay - between East Florida(Miami) - Puerto-Rico (San Juan) and just Bermuda. Inside this space, the vessels, aircrafts, or even ship crews would be disappeared… To the greatest mystery belongs those of September 1945, when air-squadron of five bomber aircrafts, during their training flight, disappeared completely in this space. After routine training flight, an unexpected failure of all navigation devices happened, caused obviously by some of unknown magnetism. The course was lost and lack of fuel led to an order to land on sea-level, and since that momemt, the destiny of crew was unknown. Moreover, another loss, this time of investigation aircraft, occured, the wreckages of which were never found again, too. As the official explanation, this was a fog and a fault of leader of the first aircraft.

Anyway, this area has on its mind another mystery, such as: the disappearance of Cyclops and Marine Sulphur Queen vessels, or Mary Celeste (1872) famous ship of ghosts, which was found without a crew but fully ready for service, including complete cargo, foodstuffs, personal belongings of the crew as well as life-boat. The pirates´ attack would be excluded, owing to presence of all valuable objects on board. So, the whole matter is, similarly, as the another ones, wrapped in mystery, which makes from Bermuda triangle one of most mysterious places (areas) of the world.
