Austira: Vacation in Hochkönig
Hochkönig Region is situated in Salzburg with three picturesque winter resorts Maria Alm and Mühlbach Dienten. The region is dominated by a noticeable 12 kilometres long rock massif Hochkönig , which rises to a height of 2941 meters above the sea level and, at the same time, is the highest peak in the Berchtesgaden Alps. Entertainment is provided by 150 kilometres of slopes and 33 high-tech ski lifts. You can choose from several types of perfectly maintained slopes belonging to the famous ski area Ski Amadé . p>
The Königstour ski circuit has been opened at the turn of the year 2011 and 2012 and it belongs to the longest and most beautiful ski circuits in the Alps. It consists of a total of 32 kilometres interconnected ski slopes with a height difference of 7700 meters. Each part of the circuit will surprise skiers with stunning views over mountains. When two new ski lifts were constructed, at the same time was created a full-circuit connection. If visitors had undergone the whole circuit, they would conquer five peaks and would choose various start points.
Becoming a great skier in 3 days
Hochkönig visitors can enjoy their stay regardless of their skiing skills. This winter beginners will have an opportunity to learn so-called "fish method", a ski technique. Originally, this technique emerged as a motivational strategy of stallholders in the United States. The most important things are joy and pleasure from this activity. This way makes it possible to motivate not only yourself but also those around you. Participants in special courses with the help of qualified teachers will become great skiers within 3 days. Educative Trail "Dynafit TOURING BASE" in Mühlbach is intended for beginners and experienced skiers. They will learn how to work with avalanche transceiver and will deepen their knowledge. The trail is lined with boards with safety information and tips. After an hour long climb tourists equipped with skis will experience a view over the Hochkönig massif and Grossvenediger, the fourth highest mountain in Austria. A vacation for everybody
Not only skiers and snowboarders will appreciate the benefits of Hochkönig in winter. 40 kilometres of trails or 85 kilometres of well-maintained hiking trails in beautiful countryside are ready for cross-country skiers and hikers. Evening sleigh riding, horse-pulled sleigh rides , geocaching or curling are possibilities how you can make your vacation special. You can geocache in the Hochkönig region also in winter. The treasure may be hiding in a snow cave or in one of a mountain cottage. This is an interesting and exciting way to explore the region thoroughly.
A unique Christmas atmosphere in Maria Alm creates so-called Wallfahrtsadvent . In a local pilgrimage church is a wonderful light decoration waiting to be explored by visitors. Together with music it creates an amazing experience. A live Nativity scene with animals at Advent markets will certainly make sparkles in children’s eyes. At the exhibition of Nativity scenes in Maria Alm visitors get an overview of a long tradition of Nativity scenes in Salzburg. Advent vacation is especially favourable with Advent tariff. A ski navigation system counts with skills and fitness of a user, knows details of the slopes, trails and paths. The application can quickly show where is the nearest ski slope area, ideal route to it or recommend the nearest restaurant that is worth visiting. Those who want to prepare their vacation at home can use various information of a particular ski area, current weather conditions, snow conditions or reviews of available accommodations.
A favourable and comfortable way to get on a ski slope
2-day ski pass that valid in the region of Hochkönig costs for adults 87 Euro, for youth (born 1994 - 1996) 67.50 Euro and for children (born 1997-2006) 43 Euro. " Junior Weekend Discount " offers weekend rides for children and youth for reduced prices up to 35% of normal prices. Transports in the area provide free ski buses that comfortably transport guests to all boarding stations in the ski region.
