Thailand I: Tropical Country with a Smile - VIDEO

Published: 20.5.2023
Endless beaches with white coral sand, countless of Buddhist temples, breathtaking mountain vistas, many kinds of exotic life, and vivid life in the capital.

All of will offer you world’s most popular tropical destination – Thailand. Current flight ticket price make it an ideal alternative to winter and spring vacations in Egypt or Tunisia. Thanks to high living standard and high level of security in the country make it a good vacation for families with small children.

Thailand

Kingdom of Thailand is located on the Malay Peninsula and partially on the Farther India. It also reaches on hundreds of islands to the west and the east. It is pretty large country so don’t except to travel trough and trough during your first visit. Its half-million square kilometers make Thailand 49th largest country in the world.

Almost 70 people live in Thailand, most of them being Buddhists. Only in Thailand’s south Muslim minority prevails. About 8,5 million people live in Thailand’s capital - Bangkoku, thus making it one of the world’s most important cities.

Thailand

National currency is baht. Current exchange rate is about 0,8 crown for 1 baht. Time change is +7 hours, so count 6 hours to Central European winter time. Weather in Thailand is tropical and is influenced by monsoons. The best conditions for a visit are in November to April. The best weather is between December and February.

Fabulous tropical beaches pose the biggest temptation for tourist. You can find them in Krabi province , on Phuket island, in Ko Samui, and also southeast from Bangkok around Pattaya resort. I recommend you to take a flight to all these destinations should you travel from Bangkok. Traveling on the ground is cheaper, true, but it will take you much more time, and is very tiring. One-way tickets from Bangkok to Krabi or Phuket will cost you up  for a few dozen euros.

Thailand

The northern part of the country is more for action-liking travelers, or mountain enthusiasts. The area around the cities of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai is famous for beautiful nature, tea and coffee plantations, and national parks. Except by plane, you can get there by night trains from Bangkok. You board a train at about 8pm and wake up in the morning in the destination. Just be warry as the tickets are usually sold out, so book yours at least a day prior to the departure.

Thailand

I recommend you to spend couple of days in the capital which will surprise you by its colorfulness and diversity. The most popular places for its visitors are Buddhist temple compounds, and the Royal Palace . You certainly should pay a visit to one of city’s large markets where you can taste the best of Thai cuisine. Next I recommend you a boat trip on the river, walk in the Chinese town, or visiting some famous bar there.

Thailand

Thailand is famous for sexual tourism. But if you don’t intend to do this kind of tourism you wont probably notice prostitutes at all as they don’t look so conspicuously as European. And they mostly look for their customers in clubs and bars.

On Infoglobe, we show you some interesting places in Thailand thus, hopefully, making decision making over your next vacation easier.
