Travelling
The citizens of Czech Republic, travelling to the Republic of Turkey, are obliged to have valid travelling document (passport), with validity term exceeding minimally three months the period of intended stay. In case of travelling by motor vehicle, it is necessary to present the following documents:
- Vehicle technical proof document.
- International driving licence.
- Green card document, prof that liability for abroad traffic was paid.
Provided the driver does not have green card available, he can conclude this policy on Turkish border, before entering the country.
Nevertheless, Foreign Affairs Ministry of Czech Republic recommend to Czech citizens to check at the Embassy Office, if the conditions for entry and stay did not changed in the meantime. Between Czech Republic and Republic of Turkey, visa-free agreement for diplomatic, service and special passports for persons from both countries is applicated.
Anyway, the Government of Turkish Republic cancelled, starting since 1st January 2005, visa duty for passholders from Czech Republic, travelling to Turkey for tourist purposes, when the stay in Turkey does not exceed 90 days. The citizens of Czech Republic who are travelling to Turkey with other as touristic purpose, are obliged to ask for entry visa, as it was in past. In case of travelling by motor vehicle, the car would be always registered on border crossing by Turkish custom officials in passport of vehicle owner, or a person entitled to drive the respective vehicle. The term, when it is necessary to carry out the vehicle, will be also registered in the passport. This permission is issued for maximal time period of 180 days.
The respective motor vehicle is entitled to leave the territory of Turkish Republic with driver only, who has the vehicle registered in his travelling document. However, when this person has not the respective certifications available, he cannot leave Turkish territory and the car would be put into custom magazine.
Nevertheless, all Czech citizens who travel across Turkish territory into Syria and Iran, are recommended to ask for entry visa just in Prague, because the Embassies of Syria and Iran in Turkey refuse usually to grant them entry visa in Turkey.
