USA, Ohio – The Best Open Adventures

For such a moderate hike you are advised to go to the forest parks around cities like Cincinnati, Cleveland or Columbus. You will come across paved paths that are great for undemanding travelers.

But if you enjoy more challenging hikes, the Ohio State Parks will surely satisfy you. There are many across the state, you can march through nature in any season. In the southern part of Ohio, you can go to Hocking Hills State Park. More to the north, by Lake Erie, you can walk through Cuyahoga Valley National Park. If you decide to take a winter walk, we recommend Barkcamp State Park.

For truly experienced hikers, we recommend going to the southwestern edge of Ohio, where the Wayne National Forest is located, where you can easily spend a few days walking. However, we recommend that you first study the routes to determine their difficulty as well as parking options.

If you had enough walking trips and would like to try something more actionful then we have to send you some of the best zipline tracks in the United States. The right place is the Hocking Hills. Everybody can choose from here, a complete beginner and an experienced "rappel" who will ride the rope at a speed of nearly 80 km/h! You can even enjoy zipline at night, which is a unique experience.

Another unique experience is the Zipline Safari. I guess you already know what this might be about. Almost 40 km², The Wilds is home to many exotic species, including giraffes, rhinos, zebras, cheetahs and camels. You can either pay for Zipline Safari on weekdays or go for a full moon. The whole event takes about an hour and a half, accompanied by two experienced guides.

After hiking and zipline we can only recommend water. Rent a canoe, best in Loudonville, which is called the canoeing capital. As is customary in the US, you will be faced with a wide variety of excursions. You can even go on a cruise at full moon.
