CZ, Třebíč: By Bike From Hladov to Třebíč and Back
Our ride from Hladov leads through Opatov, Heraltice, Okříšky, Přibyslavice, Nova Ves to Třebíč. We go between forests, fields, meadows, but also roads and new bike paths. We will return along the river and through the villages of Sokolí, Hvězdoňovice, Pokojovice, Kobylí hlava hill near Chlístov, Opatov and back to Hladov. This route is a great compromise to discover the nature and beauty of the city at the same time. Unfortunately, there are not many places to eat, so it's good to have a small snack and lunch in the city. There are a large number of restaurants in Třebíč where you can have a tasty lunch.
There is a lot to see in Třebíč. Immediately upon arrival in the city, we will be greeted on the embankment by the river Jihlava with a magnificent Benedictine monastery, a chateau complex, and then we will see the Basilica of St. Prokop, we will drive through the Jewish quarter to the synagogue and the Jewish cemetery. It is one of the largest and best preserved in our country. The area of the former Benedictine monastery with the basilica of St. Prokop and the Jewish quarter with a cemetery are inscribed on the prestigious UNESCO list. But Třebíč will provide much more to see. There are the remains of the city fortifications, the city tower, the windmill or, for example, an interesting architectural structure of the reservoir. But that's not the end of it. You have the opportunity to taste real Czech whiskey from Třebíč, of course there is beer from the local brewery or the legendary lemonade ZON, which many of us remember from our childhood.
Wherever you go from Třebíč, it will be uphill. This may be the reason why you will not want to visit Třebíč by bike, but the bike is an ideal means of transport for exploring small streets. Plus, you don't have to deal with parking and do something for your health.
