This year we are commemorating the 150th anniversary of the birth of the most significant Slovak architects Dusan Samuel Jurkovic. In today's article we will remind you of him by visiting unique buildings made by him and also we will tell you something on his life.
Do you feel that there is a lot going on for you lately and would you appreciate recreation and relaxation? The town of Luhačovice literally encourages this. A stay in a spa town does not have to be equal to the fact that only elderly or sick people go there. The picturesque town is full of healing springs, colonnades, but also bike paths and various modern attractions for many young people!
Velké Karlovice is a village with remarkable natural beauties, monuments, buildings of original log architecture and a wide range of services for tourists. Today we will visit this picturesque village with approximately 2400 inhabitants.
If our short stops in some spa towns declared the fact that balneology in the Czech Republic would fail, Luhačovice is a big exception in this respect.
In our new mini series we introduce you to Kromeriz, a town of beautiful streets, squares, sacral constructions, amazing gardens, and UNSECO sights. We will roam in one of the most beautiful places in the Czech Republic. Its amazing history, culture, and knowledge is why it is called Athens of Hana.
Today we make our first walk i Kromeriz. We will look at the most amazing gems of its architecture, see its marvelous squares, and picturesque streets.
During our walks in Kromeriz we reached Archbishopric chateau on Snemovni sqaure. We follow up on our last week's walk and explore more of beautiful places in this city. Before entering the cahteau, we visit the Mlynska gate which is a part of city's fortification.
Last week, we concluded our article on Kromeriz at Podzamecka garden which is listed as a World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is amazing nature gem of this picturesque city.
After the introduction to Luhacovice and local world famous spa, we visit some local cultural, nature, and historic sights. We are going to travel within the regions of unique Valassko, hospitable Slovacko and fertile Hana.
Luhacovice spa is beautiful, quiant and treats patiens in any season of the year. Its diverse architecture, splendid surroundings and green has always charmed its visitors.
Kvetna Garden is our last stop in Kromeriz. The garden is true gem of architecture even on global scale.
