At first this small town with about 15 hundred residents seems quite nice. Locals fight heat that emanates from asphalt and pavement on the main square with ice-cream in a candy shop, beer in a pub U Zlateho lva or near town fountain.
Sometimes we have to drive or fly many kilometers just to see interesting historical sights and sometimes it happens that we discover a historical landmark just round the corner.
A small village near Jaromer – Kuks, with only a handful people living there attracts thousands curious every day. Reason to visit it is a hospital and partially preserved baroque spa.
In the town Chleby near Nymburk in the Region of Central-Bohemia, there is a zoo of the same name. It is easily accessible from Prague by car, mostly thanks to near the D11 highway.
Nove Mesto nad Metuji is located in a fertile part of the Region of Hradec Kralove in northeastern Bohemia in 332 meters above the sea level. A cliff and the Metuje River are typical landmarks of this historical city, which was so inspiring to Czech writers.
As in case of some other castles in the Czech Republic, Kokorin is a landmark any Czech should visit. The castle is surrounded by beauty of the protected area of Kokorin and for dozens of years it attracts visitors to see its compounds.
Smirice – a town that is not particularly interesting. There are almost no tourists. Nevertheless, for many Smirice is an interesting stop for those who visit Kralovehradcky Region, for there is a chapel, castle, and also a train station.
The town is located not far from Jested and surrounded by a diverse and beautiful landscape full of small or large hills. The city is charming, magical and it is a historical center of the region of Cesky Dub.
Spa – who would like it. Peace and health. Velichovky Spa specialize, or until at the beginning of July, specialized to musculoskeletal system healing. Who had troubles with joints or bones traveled to Velichovky.
Another almost obligatory stop in the Macha’s land is Ceska Lipa. Its historical center is located on the riverside of the Ploucnice.
