Today we visit a place, which remained hidden to many travellers until the present. It is mostly due to the fact the place is few meters under ground. Despite it is close to Prague only few have heard about one of the most interesting miner open air museum near Beroun.

Land around Neratovice, a place with not particularly good reputation from ecologists, is surprisingly diverse. It would be foolish to condemn this region just because there is Spolana. Hrubá Skála and its vicinity have everything one has sought in locality called Bohemian Paradise from time immemorial. It is a piece of beautiful land, forests, rocks and sights, which looks like they were taken from some fairy tales. A castle on Hrubá Skála is not the only attraction of land of sandstone rocks, a land located between the Region of Liberec, Královehradecký and Středočeský. Turnov is a central city of this area.

The Šumava National Park begins with this border town that has a history of lumbering. The surrounding of this town is mostly hills and mountains and Stožec is the highest of them (1065 m n. m.). Once there was a castle that didn’t survive until present. A railroad (since 1910) and the River Studená Vltava cross the town.
