SK: A Retrowalk in Trenčín and Looking for Interesting Places

Published: 10.1.2021
At the end of last year, an interesting book retro walk around the town of Matúš Čák - Trenčín and a fun social game "Where is it?" Took to the shelves of bookstores.

Trenčín is a city with a rich history, beautiful monuments and a varied cultural life. This is how it is known today, but through a new retro publication the author Ján Hanušin will take you into the period of socialism, or into the period from 1948 to 1989.

A postcard retro walk around Trenčín will offer you an undistorted picture of the city. The book also recalls what the city and its surroundings looked like and what they lived like a relatively short period of time ago.

You will start at Trenčín Castle, from where you will head to the narrower city center and learn about the insensitive reconstruction of Sládkovičova and Hviezdoslavova streets. You will continue through new neighborhoods, the wider city center and, of course, housing estates. The book is a very engaging look into the recent past and evokes memories. At the same time, it will serve as a nice comparison of a regional city.

In the Retro edition, the publication about Trenčín was included in walks around Bratislava, the High Tatras and Trnava.

If you like to play board games, you can't miss the novelty in the world of "Where is it?" Games. It is intended for all small and large curious people who like to play and at the same time like to discover interesting places in Slovakia.

hra Kde je to?

In the game, players guess or get to know which location in Slovakia is hidden behind the clues on the individual cards. The game contains a two-sided game plan (1 for children and 1 for adults), a dice, 4 pieces, 200 cards with indications for adults (55 for children), 40 cards with photo puzzles for adults (11 for children) and dozens of bonus cards. This is the 9th social game from the family publishing house Dajama.

You Can Win!

You can find the book "Trenčín Retro" and the game "Where is it?" In any good bookstore or e-shop. However, if you write us your favorite monument in the city of Trenčín or an unusual place in Slovakia at info@infoglobe.sk, we will be happy to reward the two of you. The evaluation of the competition will take place on our social networks on Monday, January 11, 2021.
