Let's travel to Normandy today. Normandy is a region of rich history, and diverse landscape. People can do many activities and see many interesting places.
On this day, we visit the heart of Deparament Amiens for the last time.
Last time we explored what interesting is around Amiens. Today we get to the city itself. Amiens is a medium sized city of 130 thousand. And 30 thousand students studying there make the city look young.
Amiens is situated on the Somme River 120 kilometers north from Paris. This amicable city is home to one of the oldest skyscrapers in Europe and is surrounded by peaceful rural landscape. City's location is favorable for its mild weather, yet percipitations are higher than in other parts of the country.
We leave the Alps, concretely the city of Grenoble, for the region in the southeast of France close to Spanish borders.
Today, we visit Grenoble, a city which is not under the spotlight like Paris or Lyon. However, Grenoble is surrounded by the mountains, main reason behind its alternative name - the Capital of the Alps.
We spend the end of the work week in another picturesque French town. Nîmes. There are amazing sights dating back to the antiquity. The most important one is an amphitheater built in the 1st century AD. Its proportions are impressive - 133 to 101 meters. About 21 thousand people could fit inside its auditorium. The theater was designed trully skillfully. There are 124 exits so large crowds could move in and out within minutes.
