Baroque Chateau in Měšice
History:
In 1545, Procopius of Hejlovice, built in the community of Měšice (today, it is a quarter of Tábor) a Renaissance stronghold. This building was re-built in 1699 by John Joseph Carett in a chateau of Baroque style. In 1817, John Schmidtgraber of Lusteneg, enlarged in the chateau Neo-classical staircase and arranged its outside look in Neo-classical style. Since 1997, Dr. Jan Berwid-Buquoy, President of Czech Institute of International Meetings, became a new owner of this chateau.
