This water-work was created within 1976-1982 on Kamenice streamlet as a reservoir of drinking water fpr the towns of Liberec and Jablonec nad Nisou . It is the greatest dam in Jizerské Mountains. The water is being led for working up as a drinking water from a dam through gallery of 2,54 kms of length in a depth of 130 m under the surface to the adjustment in Bedřichov, further under the surface up to Liberec. The whole dam serves ,as a reservoir of drinking water, belongs to the safety area , so the bathing here is not allowed.
In spite of this, it is a tourists´ target. thanks to its marvellous outskirts and arranged access- paths , offering the ideal conditions for cycle-tourists.
