In 1874, Wenceslas Klan, Prague enterpreneur, bought real estates, including part of forests. He founded a community here and gave it his name, Klánovice. In past, there were placed spa with basin, colonnade, restaurant and lodging house. However, the spa-building was not managed to be saved , and the complex, totally devastated, was demolished in 1988. Klánovice Forest was established in 17th century. Before, there were several communities here, however, they ceased to exist consequently. In 14th and in the first half of 15th century, there existed Hol village in the locality ,situated along banks of Hol pond. Another community, Lhota nad Úvalem, was placed on highest point pf today´s Klánovice Forest.
There was to be found St.Wenceslas parish church. As a reminder, local name „Na kostelíku“, is known on spot. Another servitude community, Žák, existed and was submitted to Jirny stronghold. After 30-years war, the village was not populated, it was probably burnt out by Swedish military troops. This village was also situated around the pond. However, it was cancelled in the second half of 18th century. Even now, you can find some rests of walls here and wallings of well from Middle Ages. After 30-years war, military deserters were hidden in side rests of villages.
In Klánovice Forest, there was established nature reservation - Cyrilov. You can find here interesting plants, such as, for instance red foxglove Digitalis or rare great brackens. The birds have here their nesting places. So, kestrels, buzzards, hawks or sparrow-hawks found here their homes.
