Máslovice path
This educational path leads to Small Máslovice Museum. No road bridge over Vltava river is to be found between the towns of Prague and Kralupy. Only in Řež, there is operating small foot bridge for pedestrians only. So, if you wish to reach the opposite bank, you have to use a ferry. So, such ferry is operating between the communities of Libčice and Máslovice. In 1893, Dr.Julius Gregr, Member of Parliament (Deputy) of Young Bohemian Party, bought a mill-building here. In past, he was a prisoner, as he tried to carry out Bohemian Rights. He let to build his summer seat here, nearby the mill, and he let to afforest the slopes in direction to the community of Větrušice, and made vineyards here. Later, he found public library in Máslovice and helped with construction of basic school building in the community of Vodochody. So, the state bought this villa from descendands of Julius Gregr. Since 1923, this villa is a seat of Scientific Investigative Apiarian Institute. The vineyards belong also to this institute, so red as well as white wine is available here. The route leads upstairs, against brook stream, along the road, in left direction, up the slope in direction to Máslovice. Máslovice Slope is a nature resrevation and it is afforested with acacia and black pine wood. You find here nests of 82 sorts of birds. Along the path, there is children playground available. In Máslovice, you fing direction finder, instructing you, in which direction you find Libčice or even Johannesburg. Straight ahead, you find Butter Museum, where you will be informed about history and production of home made butter.
